Custom home built on a 50’x150′ = 7,500 sq ft lot adjacent to large park and 1/4 mile to metro station. 10′ side setbacks and a maximum building structure coverage allowed by City of 25% gave us significant restrictions in the size of the house. The main goal was to have an open floor plan that encouraged entertaining friends and showcasing the views of the park, but maintaining a traditional exterior. Main areas of entertaining are the first floor wet bar with a folding window opening to side deck, covered patio with a see through fireplace to the family room and rear circular room with views of the park, and beautiful kitchen over looking park. Wanted a traditional looking home from the front elevation but modern uses. Each piece of stone was hand cut to make straight lines, box woods lining pea gravel walkways, and gas lanterns gave the look of an old traditional English home.
