Project Description
The new Business & Public Management Center houses the university’s graduate and undergraduate business programs and was designed with the goal of reinforcing the campus’ prevailing collegiate gothic architecture while also expressing a strong sense of modernity.
The first three floors contain classrooms, expressed on the façade by large windows that create transparency and convey collegiality. The classroom floors are connected by a grand stair in the center of the curtain-walled bay that encourages spontaneous interaction between students and faculty. Throughout the building, engagement spaces allow learning and collaboration to continue outside of scheduled lectures and classes. The administrative suite holds pride of place on the second floor and faculty offices are grouped together on the upper floors to create a collaborative environment. The Dean’s suite presides over the gothic double-arched entry, emphasized by a gracious bay window that symbolizes leadership’s accessibility to WCU students.
This project was completed in association with Moody Nolan.
