Project Description

A luxurious modern home with significant energy and water savings, located in Marin County CA. Designed to achieve LEED Platinum for Residential Architecture, the Hillcrest House utilizes the mulit-award-winning Rainwater HOG tanks for maximum LEED points in rainwater and innovative design. The Rainwater HOGs hold rainwater which is pumped via filters and an energy and water monitoring system into the toilets and laundry fixtures inside the house. Another set of horizontal Rainwater HOG tanks stores greywater from the shower and bath located on the upper floor, and releases it every 24 hours to irrigate the downhill lawn and perimeter landscaping.
