Project Description
The original home was destroyed in the May 20, 2013 Moore Tornado. We recycled the original storm shelter that saved lives. Certified Green to the Silver level by the National Home Builder's Association. Certified Positive Energy Energy (Positive Energy). 3 bed 2 bath 2 car garage. We partnered with COHBA and Simpson Strong-Tie to build the 2014 House of Hope in Moore, Oklahoma to benefit the Cavett Kids Foundation. The house was designed using a continuous load path to help resist wind speeds up to 135 miles per hour or an EF 2 tornado. This method of construction ties the wood frame of the house to the foundation using Simpson Strong-Tie connectors and anchors. Proceeds from the sale of the home will go to the Cavett Kids Foundation in Oklahoma City. The Cavett Kids Foundation provides positive experiences for kids with life-threatening illnesses.
