A warehouse was expanded to create a 36,000 sq-ft modern office space with Zen-like accents. Transparent glass walls were utilized inside allowing natural light to permeate throughout the rooms. To communicate with the outside environment, a towering clear-glass wall was erected in the grand lobby, opening the foyer to light and expansiveness. Besides glass, a wide selection of materials was also incorporated in other areas to stimulate a staff who had expressed their wish in working with a colorful array of products. Lastly, a circular configuration was chosen for the rotunda which contrasted with the building’s hard linear outline. It provided a gateway to three separate venues – to executive offices, staff workstations, and showroom /auditorium for buyers and vendors - ensuring that the three divergent pathways were spatially optimized.
