Project Description
The three bedroom up-side down home from the early ’80s was given a total makeover. The main changes are a new two story front porch, open stair connecting the entry on first floor to the living on the second floor and a new kitchen integrated into the Great Room.
The house is a three story structure with the garage on the bottom, bedrooms and living space on the first floor and the Great Room (kitchen, dining & living) and the Master Suite with a new bathroom and walk-in closet on the top floor. With emphasis on natural light throughout the house, new windows were introduced as well as a skylight over the master shower flooding the previously dark room with light and making star gazing possible night.
The reworked porches utilize simple 2×4 construction instead of the typical 4×4 columns achieving a much more delicate and sophisticated environments for both living floors. The top floor deck has a retractable sunshades while the first floor porch provides a cool respite from the heat of the day with a view of the pool bellow.
The material and color palate was kept simple. High gloss white cabinets were used throughout with white to light colored penny tiles in the bathrooms. The new wood floor on both floors of the house is Hickory, livening up the quite pallet.
