Project Description
DJG, Inc. was selected to design a replacement station for the existing historic Fire Station #3 located in the Hilton Village neighborhood of Newport News, Virginia. the new station includes three drive-through apparatus bays, bunking for 12 full-time career staff, Battalion Chief office and quarters, community and training room, and fitness room. Sustainable design features have been incorporated into the design to include: stormwater harvesting for irrigation and truck washing, energy efficient building envelope, energy recovery unit, and a lighting control system.
