Project Description
Builder’s Choice and Custom Home Awards Finalist
The clients wanted a simple structure that would not consume all of the available back yard space. The structure is to contain guest quarters, storage, home office, and covered parking. The use of shipping containers was suggested by the designer/builder because the clients were also interested in doing something interesting and cool. The 24’x8′ deck serves as a usable visual extension of the narrow living area. It should be noted that this structure is in a historic area of Houston, TX and required approval of the city’s Historic Commission.
A custom graffiti graphic was commissioned by the owner. The graphic is of the names of the owner’s two sons, Ty and Quinn.
