Project Description
These 75 units for low-income families at Sansome and Broadway in San Francisco complete the repair of the former Embarcadero Freeway touchdown sites begun by our Broadway Family Apartments across the street. This block-long site is where two different historic building patterns meet—large historic warehouses to the east, and typical San Francisco fabric of small buildings stepping with the slopes on the other sides. Accordingly, the eastern wing of our complex is simple and loft-like, while the western quadrant of the site is vertically articulated and steps with the slope. Retail spaces animate the building corners. Common spaces include a multi-purpose room, supportive service offices and a large roof garden play area with stunning views of the bay.
