Project Description
The focal point of the expansion is the Players Pavilion, a roof top multifunctional public/private space with expansive views of Sarasota Bay. The pavilion will provide multiple new programming opportunities for the Players as well as opportunities to collaborate with other Sarasota Arts organizations.
A black-box theater and much need rehearsal space will occupy the fourth floor of the expansion over three levels of parking which provide over 200 new spaces. Outdoor rooms dispersed throughout the parking levels provide meeting areas for patrons, informal performance spaces as well as areas for patrons to enjoy the stunning views. A pedestrian bridge connects the addition to a new balcony level being created in the existing theater. A grand stair and new elevator provide vertical circulation to the new balcony and addition. Back stage areas are also scheduled to be renovated as part of the multiphase project
