Due to soil conditions in San Antonio, primarily the expansiveness of clay soil, foundation problems are prevalent. For concrete slab foundations in particular, symptoms of the foundation problems are cracks, uneven floors, and noticeable gaps in windows and doors due to foundation shifting. In this project a variety of efforts were implemented to correct the foundation problems and level the home. First, we dug around the foundation and installed additional supports. We also used a process known as mudjacking which pushes concrete under the foundation in order to level and secure the foundation. Finally, we use a special soil injection technique ( more info at texfoundationrepair.com ) that treats the soil with potassium ions. This solution results in a permanent fix for San Antonio’s expansive soil by bonding with the composite.
