Project Description
Priorities
• Incorporate a sunroom addition into the landscaped backyardSolutions
The owners of this traditional home in Nashville wanted a new sunroom extending off the back of the house into their shaded, heavily wooded backyard. Scott Wilson Architect and Phipps Construction obliged, creating an addition that is integrated into the landscaping. Atop a steep hillside surrounded by trees the room has the feeling of a tree house. The window-lined room connects the home to the great outdoors while providing a space to relax or entertain guests. Walls of windows and a cupola allow light to flood in during the day. The sunroom opens onto a small balcony that offers views of the lush backyard. Inside, a dining area and a masonry fireplace make the sunroom versatile and a welcoming space in all seasons.
