Even as the broader market begins to stabilize and residential development activity resumes, many questions will remain regarding the future of building green homes in the U.S. Which sectors are positioned to transform the residential marketplace? Who will push the envelope? Should our rental housing stock be viewed differently than that which is owned? How do builders balance form against function when it comes to green home design? Is greening our housing stock a question of corporate responsibility, or is there a solid business case to be made?
At this year’s Greenbuild Residential Summit, Nov. 12–13 in Phoenix, “Renovation Nation” host Steve Thomas and a panel of three CEOs will explore these issues. The panel includes Jeff Mezger, CEO of KB Home, one of the nation’s leading production home builders; Tom Toomey, president and CEO of UDR, a leading multifamily REIT; and Tedd Benson, accomplished author and founding owner of Bensonwood Homes. These distinguished leaders will discuss their organizations’ approach to residential sustainability while also representing their respective residential market sectors in a lively conversation around the future of our new housing stock.
“Greening Our New Housing Stock: A Discussion Across Multiple Sectors” will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Thurs., Nov. 12.
