The Illuminating Engineering Society’s Annual Conference will take place August 10 - 12, 2017, in Portland, Oregon. The theme of this year’s conference, organized under the guidance of 2017 IES Annual Conference Chair Brienne Willcock, is “My Light.” The goal of the conference theme is to bring “…focus to the impact of light on our personal health and well-being.” The Call for Speakers for seminar sessions deadline is March 10 and accessible via a secure online portal.

As the conference website notes, “Various interpretations of the [conference] theme are welcome. The IES encourages submission of sessions including lectures, group discussions, and panels. Sessions could investigate the role of lighting in:· Health and healing
· Wellness: mood, movement and activity
· Application and Evidence Based Design research
· Art and communication
· Impacting the well-being of our cities & neighborhoods
· Profitability and economic impact of personalized technologies
