GE Lighting has announced the “Call for Entries” for its 33rd Annual GE Edison Awards. The deadline for entries is Jan. 18, 2016, 5:00 p.m. (EST). The award program is “…open to those lighting professional who creatively employ significant use of a GE LED Lighting Products, including LED systems, LED luminaires, LED architectural products, LED lamps and modules, and lighting controls.” Note that the focus on the majority of the products being specified on the project entry being LED related, as opposed to another type of GE Lighting product, is a new aspect of the 2015 program.
Project entries must be submitted through the competition’s online portal and have been completed during the 2014 or 2015 calendar years (Jan. 1, 2014, - Dec. 31, 2015) and will be judged based on the following criteria: functional excellence; architectural compatibility; effective use of state-of-the-art LED lighting products and techniques; appropriate color, form and texture revelation; energy effectiveness and cost effectiveness.
