The International Association of Lighting Designers’ (IALD) Education Trust has announced the election results of its 2017 Board of Directors. The board is made up of nine members “…who provide strategy, governance and oversight to the organization, and enforce adherence to the code of ethics.” Board members sit for a two-year term and may serve up to three consecutive terms. The following four individuals joined the board and started their service at the start of 2017:

  • IALD Representative: Victor Palacio, Principal, Ideas en Luz, México City (Palacio is also currently the President of the IALD.);
  • Director-at-Large: Barbara Horton, President and CEO, Horton Lees Brogden Lighting Design, New York;
  • Director-at-Large: Andrea Wilkerson, Ph.D., Lighting Research Engineer, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Portland, Ore.; and
  • Lighting Industry Resource Council (LIRC) Representative: Rick Leeds, Head of North American Sales for Flos USA and Lukas Lighting, Atlanta.

Palacio, Horton, Wilkerson, and Leeds join the current board which includes: 2017 IALD Education Trust President Andrea Hartranft, 2017 Secretary/Treasurer Jimalee Beno, and Directors-at-Large Steve Brown, Marco Palandella, and Laura Thompson. Board members work in promoting the Trust’s programs, events, and fundraising activities.
