Lightfair, the annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference has announced that its 2020 edition will return to Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Convention Center May 3 - 7, 2020. The show has historically alternated between the east and west coast each year; the show was last held in Las Vegas in 2014. Robert J. Maricich, chief executive officer of Lightfair managing partner International Market Centers said in a press statement, “Lightfair and Las Vegas are natural partners with a strong performance history setting the stage for our 2020 return. Across every measure, LFI customers consistently name Las Vegas as their preferred west-coast venue. The 2020 trade show and conference will answer that call with all the innovations, experiences and resonance the lighting and design industry has come to expect.”

This past July, Lightfair announced that it would “…continue its management contract with International Market Centers (IMC) following the merger between IMC and AmericasMart Atlanta (AMC).” Lightfair is jointly owned by the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES). The third party in the joint Lightfair ownership arrangement, responsible for the show’s production and management since 1989, was AMC, now part of IMC. In a July press release Mr. Maricich said, “We are thrilled to partner with IALD and IES on the successful show they have built in partnership with AMC. Lightfair is at the forefront of the lighting industry and we look forward to partnering with them going forward.” The July release also indicated that the show will continue to use its existing branding.

Lightfair 2019, the 30th Anniversary of the show, will be held in Philadelphia May 19-23, 2019, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
