Lighting designer Eileen Pierce has joined New York-based SBLD Studio as an associate principal. Pierce brings 15 years’ experience and has worked on a number of award-winning projects, with a particular focus on museums and galleries and private art collections. Her portfolio of work includes the Frick Collection, The Morgan Library & Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Christie’s Rockefeller Center Expansion, and The LeFrak Lakeside Center in Prospect Park.
“Eileen is a dynamic and talented lighting designer and we are extremely excited to have her spearhead the firm’s art & display lighting studio,” said Susan Brady founder and principal of SBLD Studio.
Pierce is a member of the Designers Lighting Forum of New York, the United States Green Building Council, and a committee contributing member for the Illuminating Engineering Society. She has recently served on the committee that was active in updating the Recommended Practices for museum and Gallery Lighting.
Pierce received her MFA in Lighting Design from Parsons, The New School of Design. Prior to joining SBLD Studio, Pierce was as associate with Renfro Design Group; she received her initial professional training while with Cline Bettridge Bernstein Lighting Design.
