Deep Root’s Silva Cell subsurface modular container system holds soil to help manage stormwater onsite and help tree roots grow. Each module consists of a 48" x 24" x 16" frame, which can be filled up to 92% full with soil and stacked up to three high, topped by a rigid deck with openings for air and water to permeate the soil below. Made of a high-strength compound of glass and polypropylene, with galvanized steel tubes to prevent plastic creep, Silva Cell meets AASHTO’s H-20 loading standards and supports concrete, pavers, and asphalt paving.
