Crush draws its name from Fireclay Tile’s manufacturing processes. To make the company’s 100 percent recycled glass tile, Fireclay collects raw waste glass from within 20 miles of the company’s San Jose, Calif., facility, and then crushes and processes that glass into new tile. Fireclay reports that its glass fusing technology and kiln firing result in tiles that take less than one-fourth of the energy of traditional cast-glass tile. Crush, which comes in 40 colors in two finishes and 17 different sizes and shapes, is made to order in two weeks, and is suitable for residential, light commercial, hospitality, retail, and food service venues. It is also available in custom colors, sizes, and shapes. The line is designed to have minimal color variation.
