Lumileds, a San Jose-based manufacturer of power LEDs, and Japan-based LED manufacturer Toyoda Gosei have entered into an agreement that allows the companies to use each other’s patents for specific technologies in Group III-V semiconductor LEDs, which include blue and red. This will allow both companies more freedom in their development efforts and an acceleration of research to improve the luminosity of LEDs.
