SageGlass is an electronically tintable glass from Sage Electrochromics. Double-glazed units (shown, in a Wausau Window and Wall Systems frame) are currently available in sizes up to 40" by 60", but sizes up to 5' by 10' are in development. Sage Glass features an electrochromic coating composed of five layers of ceramic material on the inside face of the exterior lite in a standard argon-filled IGU. Applying electricity darkens the coating to shade the glass; reversing the polarity brings it back to clear. The company claims that the amount of electricity required to operate 2,000 square feet of the glass is less than that required to light a 60W light bulb. Triple-glazed options are also available. • sage-ec.com
