Project Description

Challenge: To add a bedroom, bath, and painting studio with minimal disruption to a 1950s modernist post-and-beam home. A glass-enclosed bridge connects the two-story 1,000-square-foot addition, circumventing code-mandated seismic upgrades to the existing home.

Judging notes:
“Brilliant—Rudolph Schindler incarnate.”
