Project Description
After one hundred years of service, the existing 24,000 sf Neighborhood House no longer met the needs of its community. An addition was built in existing space between the Neighborhood House and the Washburn House, to connect the two buildings. A new large multi-purpose room was added on the first floor, multiple ADA-compliant restrooms were placed on nearly every floor, a new cast changing room for the fourth floor theater and new research archives in the basement were also improved and expanded. The original character of the building was preserved wherever possible while updating its functions, safety, and accessibility for modern use.
