In addition to its beauty, tile adds a layer of functionality creating waterproof barriers as a flooring choice and in the form of wet rooms, showers, and bar and kitchen backsplashes.
Expected to climb in further popularity this year, Ashley Biscan, senior manager in Floor & Décor’s marketing department responsible for trends, says, “This year we are going to see even more of a tile takeover—as tiles make their way onto walls, curved ceilings, and areas beyond the shower and backsplash.”
In both Floor & Décor’s 2024 Trend Lookbook and Emser Tile’s 2024 Trend Report, “quiet luxury” and natural elements are highlighted as top trends. On the opposite end of the spectrum, bold colors and patterns are reviving as common picks for any application in the home.
