After hiring Chicago- and New York–based firm Studio Gang Architects in late 2016, the Arkansas Art Center in Little Rock, Ark., released renderings this week of the firm's concept design for the center's renovation and expansion. "Reorganizing and ordering the current program and architectural envelope," a news release notes, "Studio Gang has designed a pleated, organic architecture that connects the new north-facing city entrance with the new glass pavilion and south-facing park entrance to create an open axis public gallery through the building, connecting the program components of the AAC." The project is scheduled to break ground next year and wrap in 2022.
