On Oct. 27, global investment company Dubai Holding and international developer Emaar Properties unveiled the “Dubai Creek Harbour at The Lagoons” model in Dubai. The proposed waterfront site would span 1,482 acres of land and include six luxury condominium towers, new transportation systems, open parks, and luxury retailers and hotels. Joining the master-planned metropolis are “The Dubai Twin Towers,” slated to be the tallest paired skyscrapers in the world built for mixed-use developments, which are the golden structures soaring over all the other model buildings. Even though designs have been released, there’s no word on when construction will begin, who will be designing them, or how much all of this will cost. However, spaces in the first residential unit are already filling up with tenants from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, London, and Moscow on a first-come, first-served basis since Nov. 1.
