Kohler Co.

In 1873 Austrian immigrant and visionary, John Michael Kohler, purchased a foundry in rural Wisconsin that produced a variety of cast-iron and steel products.

Ten years later, Kohler took a product in his line, heated it to 1700°F and sprinkled it with enamel powder. Kohler was in the plumbing business. From those humble beginnings, the company has grown into a multifaceted global family of brands that lead the way to enhance our customers’ sense of gracious living.

The corporation and each associate have the mission of contributing to a higher level of gracious living for those who are touched by our products and services. Gracious living – marked by qualities of charm, good taste and generosity of spirit. Kohler associates are dedicated to a singular level of exceptional quality.

We reflect this mission in our work, in our team approach to meeting objectives and in each of the products and services we provide our customers. We endeavor to live on the leading edge of design and technology in product and process. We share a commitment to environmental sustainability, focusing on product innovation, developing products that are more environmentally favorable, without sacrificing design or performance.

Today, with more than 50 manufacturing locations on 6 continents, more than 30,000 Kohler associates are able to present the concept of gracious living in every corner of the world.
