Six individuals and organizations in the field of interior design will be honored during NeoCon on June 14 by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) with 2010 ASID Awards. The annual awards program recognizes lifetime achievements in interior design.
This year's awards and winners are:
ASID Designer of Distinction: Kirsten Childs, ASID, LEED AP—Childs is being recognized for her lifetime of work in the field of sustainable interior design, during which she has been an integral part of its growth.
ASID Design for Humanity: Ray Anderson—For his role in transforming the flooring industry by implementing forward-looking sustainable manufacturing practices at Interface Inc., setting a new standard for the industry.
ASID Educator of Distinction:The Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA)—As an educational institution that has contributed significantly to design education, CIDA is being recognized for setting an educational foundation for the profession of interior design.
ASID Patron's Prize:General Services Administration (GSA)—In honor of its ongoing support and promotion of quality in interior design, GSA is being recognized for its history of embracing the practice and for its leading role in driving sustainability.
ASID Product Prize – Corporate: Autodesk—Autodesk's suite of design software is being recognized for revolutionizing the design industry by integrating all design professionals in a systematic thinking process that also assists the creative process.
ASID Product Prize – Individual: Mogens Smed—Smed is being recognized for his leadership in socially conscious and contemporary workspaces, as well as his sustainable design and manufacturing approach.
