The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel has the Tropicana Pool with distinctive David Hockney mural. The Beverly Hills Hotel pool with its pink-and-white cabanas has long been a social scene for celebrities. And, of course, there’s the famous Neptune pool at Hearst Castle with its colonnades, statues, and elaborate façade resembling an ancient temple.
We may have another iconic California swimming pool to add to the list: The Cove at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village (stylized as The Cove @ Four Seasons).
The Cove Pool, Kitchen & Bar is the capstone of the hotel’s multi-phase transformation into a property that emphasizes wellness and outdoor living. Featuring an expansive, curving white canopy, the space will no doubt be used as a backdrop in Hollywood productions.
Designed by Brooks + Scarpa, the $20 million project spans two acres and features a steel-clad outdoor bar and grill with a full kitchen, IT space, private showers and bathrooms, three whirlpool spas, a large pool, terraced lounge seating, private daybeds, hammocks between tall date palm trees, a raised bocce ball court, a greenhouse for private wellness sessions, and an outdoor restaurant and bar. There's also a redesigned greenhouse that offers an organic dining experience.
The Cove draws inspiration from the Santa Monica Mountains and the region’s scenic beaches, using colors like cobalt blue, turquoise, burnt orange, and shades of green, plus and materials such as teak and white metal. As the sun sets, tiki torches and a 40-foot-long fire wall light up the area, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
“The Cove Pool, Kitchen & Bar will change the way guests experience our best-in-class urban retreat Hotel,” explains Robert Cima, Regional Vice President and General Manager. “It is our hope that when guests journey to us, they find an idyllic life, full of character and personality – a warm and welcoming environment to relax and celebrate in a one-of-a-kind SoCal setting.”
