With its striking concrete exoskeleton, FORTH Atlanta reflects the Old Fourth Ward’s industrial roots while signaling the district’s emergence as a cultural destination.
The 16-story hotel, designed by Morris Adjmi Architects, puts wellness, cuisine and leisure under one roof. It’s the Old Fourth Ward’s first luxury boutique hotel, marking a major milestone in the neighborhood’s evolution as a cultural hub.
Points of interest
Tailored interiors: The interior is a counterpoint to the exterior’s modern concrete look, offering rich and inviting spaces that draw inspiration from contemporary European design and early American traditions. The use of handmade wooden furniture, layered fabrics, vintage pieces, and curated objects make each space unique.
Members exclusives: At the heart of FORTH Atlanta is a members-only social club, a 30,000-square-foot space patterned on a 20th-century salon. FORTH members have access to private workspaces, pool, fitness center, bar and lounge and can participate in curated events.
Wellness center: The wellness center incorporates natural light, vintage pendant light fixtures, white oak wall paneling, and a blend of polished concrete and maple flooring.
Flexible event spaces: Venue spaces, including a ballroom for up to 350 seats, can host weddings, reunions and summits.
Guest rooms: There are 157 guest rooms. Features include custom wallpaper, Bellino Fine Linens, and bath amenities from Le Labo.
Residential suites: These apartment-style suites combine home comforts with boutique hotel amenities, including full-size appliances, washers and dryers, plain-sawn oak flooring, and custom furniture.
Restaurants and bars: FORTH Atlanta offers distinctive dining options such as an Italian steakhouse with a mid-century flair, a lobby bar that transitions from a café during the day to a wine bar in the evening, a poolside restaurant, and a rooftop cocktail lounge with a 1970s vibe.
Old Fourth Ward is home to landmarks such as the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site, Ponce City Market, a mixed-use development housed in the historic Sears, Roebuck & Co. building, and the Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail, a 3-mile multi-use path lined with murals, sculptures, and other installations.
FORTH Atlanta is a collaboration between New City Properties and Method Co.
“Our ambition for FORTH Atlanta was nothing less than to completely reimagine the hospitality experience in Atlanta,” says Jim Irwin, New City president. “This project is a celebration of the neighborhood’s past, present, and future, as well as Atlanta’s rich heritage and vibrant spirit.”
