On Oct. 1, three weeks from the start of the 2014 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in New Orleans, the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) announced its fourth-annual class of LEED Fellows. This year, 48 individuals either applied or were nominated by their industry peers to receive the designation based on their professional contributions to the green-building community. Criteria include having at least 10 years of experience in the green-building sector and holding a LEED AP certification with a specialty designation for at least eight years, according to the USGBC. The winners are chosen by the LEED Fellow Evaluation Committee with oversight from the USGBC's certification arm, the Green Building Certification Institute. The Fellows will be recognized at Greenbuild.
