Project Description
The townhomes are designed in the traditional inspired vocabulary based on the late 19th century Romanesque, Queen Anne, and Victorian row houses that are prevalent in this historic district. The exterior of the units feature patterned brick work, and large first floor transoms and the cornices accented with brick corbeling. The elevations each feature a multi-story projecting bay to further tie the façade into the local vernacular. The interior of the units provide over 2,000 sq. ft. of luxury living with three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, elevated ceilings, spacious Owner's Suite, large rooftop terraces and an interior parking space is included with each home. It was of utmost importance to feature timeless brick architecture in this building which blends perfectly into the surrounding historic neighborhood and into the classic look and feel of our nation’s capital. Views of the monuments from elegant patios, rooftop terraces and over-sized windows are enjoyed from these luxurious homes, and with two Metro stops located within walking distance, these townhomes have the entire metropolitan area at its doorsteps. One of the main objectives was to fulfill the market need for larger floor plans in a more private setting while also blending in well with the neighboring historic row homes. The U Street Corridor and 1900 Vermont Avenue is the place to be – right in the heart of Washington DC’s vibrant boutiques, eateries, and clubs. This project deserves the BALA Award for its artful integration of the best in urban planning, interior and exterior design, and period architecture that make it as highly marketable as it is inspired.
