Project Description
A former single-story unreinforced masonry building used for furniture manufacturing provided the bones for this new self-storage facility. We converted the interior into two floors and added a third floor apartment for the facility manager. We kept the original brick facade and all exterior windows. Steel art panels designed by artist Melissa MacDonald, were placed along the perimeter, adding a unique dimension to the facade. The ground floor includes an interior parking garage, administrative offices and a small corner retail space. The retail space was designed as a warm-shell space for future lease. All parking (11 spaces including one handicap space for customers) and storage units are located inside the building.
