Project Description
The objective of this remodel was to open the kitchen to the home's stunning lake views and take full advantage of the indoor/outdoor lifestyle that Florida has to offer. Another requirement was a child friendly kitchen. The use of the easy-to-clean high luster cabinetry finish was a key choice. Other easy to clean finishes include the durable limestone flooring and an amazingly beautiful, satin-like plastic textile used on the dining chairs. The cabinet design provides ample hidden storage including a hidden computer station, hidden pantry with second refrigerator, and storage beneath both islands. The middle island provides casual bar seating. A formal eat-in area is connected to the kitchen in this open floor plan. The kitchen opens to a summer kitchen via large pocketing pass-through windows. Perfect for entertaining, corner pocketing doors open the kitchen to the lanai. Retractable screens are built into the lanai to protect this indoor/outdoor area from insects when needed. The screens also hold in up to 90% of the conditioned air. The rear wall of the kitchen is framed out with frosted glass. This design element was used to provide privacy from the adjacent neighbor while creating a unique focal point. To compliment this interior architectural element, a downdraft vent was used instead of a prominent range hood. The kitchen is loaded with energy star appliances and low-flow fixtures. Other features include built-in coffee system, wine cooler, easy access lift up doors, and so much more. We believe this kitchen remodel deserves recognition because it meets all the client’s requirements and is an incredible transformation. The changes have improved the quality of this family’s lifestyle. On top of all of this, the home is LEED Gold certified!
