The site of the low one story wood frame Avenue H Station House in the Fiske Terrace - Midland Park, located in the Historic District of Brooklyn, New York, was initially built as a real estate office in the early 20th century and later developed into a subway station. This original wood frame structure with a wraparound post and beam colonnade and heavy eaves suggests a slower and more rural take on rapid transit. In a response, the installation of full-size cast bronze Mt. Lebanon Rocking Chairs allude to the era of the original structure while reinterpreting the traditional craft of a Mt. Lebanon Rocking Chair.

The chairs were first fabricated in wood by a Massachusetts craftsman and then casted by Polich Tallix Fine Art using the lost-wax process. Chemical heated patinas were applied to create an aged and worn addition that transforms the colonnade from a place of passage to a place of response, thus providing Fiske Terrace - Midland Park with a new Front Porch.
