Project Description
DC Group is North America’s #1 independent critical power source provider, delivering maintenance and service solutions for uninterruptible power supply equipment – critical components of office and corporate computer networks. Located at the corner of West River Road and West Broadway, this “expand in place” office/industrial project allowed DC Group to remain in their valued North Minneapolis location.
From the beginning of the project, members of the client, design, and contractor team came together to develop a strategy that would add much-needed parking, warehouse space, and offices to the existing location – all while keeping staff in place and operational throughout. The result is a solution that connects on multiple levels: large expanses of glass bring in daylight and views of the river; layout and amenities bring warehouse and office employees together; and the building connects to the public realm by putting functions on display for all to see.
This addition and renovation has repositioned DC Group as a modern, forward-looking facility – one that is expressive of its office/industrial nature and flexible to accommodate future growth. It is a building that embraces its location and will remain an enduring “gateway” to North Minneapolis for years to come.
