Project Description
Merriman Anderson Architects announces the groundbreaking of their design for a new complex within the EpicCentral site in Grand Prairie, Texas. The Dallas-based architecture and design firm has composed two new hotels, a connecting conference and meeting facility, and six restaurant shell spaces. Concord Hospitality of Raleigh North Carolina will flag and operate both hotels, a Hilton Garden Inn and a Homewood Suites. These highly anticipated additions to Grand Prairie’s landmark recreational, entertainment and cultural destination are scheduled to open in 2023.
The new complex is an extension to the overall EpicCentral campus in Grand Prairie, a 170-acre recreation and entertainment development. The two new hotels will connect to the existing development via walkways and two pedestrian bridges. The Hilton Garden Inn will feature 129 luxury rooms, executive lounge, restaurant, pool, fitness room and business services. The Homewood Suites hotel will include 147 guest rooms (studio, one- and two-bedroom suites) with full kitchens. The complex will also feature a convention center connected to the hotels with a 10,000 square-foot ballroom with seating capacity for 1,000 guests as well as multiple flexible meeting spaces. Two restaurants, tailored to the design of each hotel, will be featured within the convention center annex. Two additional parking garages will accommodate traffic within the new complex.
Six exciting new restaurant spaces, designed by Merriman Anderson Architects, will be added to the campus and are scheduled to open in late 2022.
“The new hotels integrate and complement the design of the existing buildings on the EpicCentral campus and will create a unique area adding on to the overall entertainment development,” said Adam Jones. “Visitors of the existing entertainment venues on campus will have the opportunity to stay overnight or walk over for a meal while they are enjoying everything EpicCentral has to offer, making it a one-stop destination.”
The interior design of the hotels will feature modern crisp architectural design with regional influences reflecting the flora and fauna of the great north Texas prairie region. The interior color palette includes blue as a nod to the great open sky, green for the tall prairie grasses, white and textural neutrals with accents of orange and red reminiscent of the gorgeous prairie land sunsets.
