Project Description

For this London-based consultancy, work is all about communications. The company owns 15 marketing businesses including The OutCast Agency, Bite, Beyond, Text100, The Blueshirt Group located in different offices in San Francisco. With an opportunity to consolidate offices for its subsidiary offices on three floors in a high-rise building, Next 15 aimed to improve communication among staff while allowing each group’s culture and unique identity to read clearly in the new space. Huntsman led a visioning process to uncover goals and practices from executives and users from each Next 15 brand. The design concept focuses on locating shared amenities such as an all-hands space that doubles as a dining hall, café, board room, and focus rooms onto a communal floor with rooftop access. Two lower floors house the various subsidiaries whose brands are reflected in the choice of furniture, finishes, and lighting. Signage served as a way to provide consistent wayfinding while highlighting each entrance to the different businesses. Artwork, both custom and ready-made, played a key part in having the various brands reflect their individual personalities, varying from video-game graphic wallcovering to a mural hand-painted by in-house artist, Troy Chafin.
