Project Description
The Private Residence Project as a whole was a build out of a raw space on the 68th floor of the Four Seasons tower in Miami. The design intent for the Master Bath Suite was to create a retreat for the couple that was sleek, romantic, and sexy. This aesthetic was achieved by using cool colors paired with warm wood tones that create a luxurious experience through simple lines. Intrigue came into play when the firm challenged themselves to a design that would allow the vanity to attach to a glass cube (the steam shower) and then waterfall the vanity with stone allowing the person walking into the space to see the feet of the user in the steam shower. The steam shower was designed for two and mimics a misty morning on the mountain side. Shower trays affixed to the back of the vanity are out of sight yet still functional and accessible inside the steam shower. The designers selected a natural stone reminiscent of an old Chinese painting with simple brush strokes and the movement of trees against the sky. The back wall of the niche is set with a sleek glass tile that appears as though water is shimming down it. The back wall with book matched stone has a niche space carved out creating a bench seat. While the design is modern with clean lines the bath is still functional with hidden storage in the millwork wall.
