Project Description
Set in the heart of the fashion district, Salvage marries the old with the new in an exciting new AIA award winning bar in Downtown Los Angeles. All of the light fixtures, furniture and finish treatments (including castings) were not only custom created by the designers, but fabricated as well using reused and recycled remnants from the 1928 Roosevelt Loft building and its recent conversion.
Molds of the intricate bronze elevator doors were used to make the cocktail tables and then were re-purposed to become a 500lb bartop. Brick was revealed through many layers of faux finished plaster to achieve a "burnt-out" Chateau feel on the largest smoking patio in Downtown, and all of the light fixtures were custom designed and fabricated by Solomon Mansoor, the visionary behind many of the details and finishes present in the space. Salvage Bar was a labor of love and the resulting experience is rich, lustrous and uniquely bespoke.
