What started out as just a kitchen face-lift quickly morphed into a kitchen – laundry - mud room renovation. With a need for space in the kitchen and a cramped laundry the architect suggested moving the existing laundry to a rarely used study. By moving a bearing wall and installing a flush beam in the ceiling an additional two feet of working space was added to the kitchen. Working within the same square footage and only moving one wall the spaces were transformed. “A place for everything and everything in its place” would best describe the inspiration for the design of the kitchen. Carefully thought out and planned - every cabinet, drawer and hidden pullout has a purpose. In keeping with the tradition design of the home an inset beaded look for the doors and drawer fronts was chosen providing a fitted look. With a mix of both simple and elegant this new kitchen will serve as host to many family gatherings and memories. The cabinetry for the kitchen was all custom built in a maple with a custom brown stain and a light glaze. The island was in maple as well and stained in the same color with a black top coat that was them distressed to pull the brown stain through. We pride ourselves on delivering the unique to our clients and executing fine details along the way. The Sugarcreek Kitchen Renovation was a team effort with the designer, cabinet maker, the clients and us as the contractor - we feel the space was transformed beyond what clients could have imagined when first approached to look at the project.
