Project Description

The London sky contrasts with the vast landscape vegetation in Hyde Park.
The exalted trees celebrate the song of the wind and, in the pavilion, the earth and the water find a new sky; A musical atmosphere
The experience of the pavilion is to express the meaning of art and landscape, and the link between them, in a minimalist language that does not compete with the environment, but interacts with it.
This new atmosphere attracts vestiges of glory, while promising future victories.
The space becomes a unique accommodation, which gives new landscape and sound textures for pedestrians, while serving as a meeting point during musical activities.

IMPLANTATION
The proposal is located at a strategic point in Hyde Park. We identify a centrality in which multiple pedestrian paths converge, the Serpentine Road, the bar, the lake, and a little beyond the pier.

The pavilion is located between the bar and the pier, attached to the Serpentine Road route, and functions as a link between land and water. Both access and visuals are given in multiple directions.

FORMAL GENERATION
Music and landscape become the formal definition of the building. Various audio waves are analyzed, at the same time that they are compared with the landscape, coming to understand a graduation of heights from the repetition of a vertical element, which allows to configure the facade and the cut of the pavilion.

MUSICAL SKY
As a result of the previous operations, the spaces that are configured in the pavilion are diverse, of different sizes, and are combined with the strategy of generating a musical sky, to give rise to sensations of all kinds.

OPERATION
The operation of the proposal is simple. A network is created, to which the vertical cylinders are linked. These, moved by the wind, generate various soft sounds that create a sound microclimate under them, which varies according to the heights and intensities of the wind. The variation of heights generates sound caves, with different reverberations, which produces that each space is unique. At the same time, this phenomenon is combined with the different lengths of cylinders that reproduce varied musical notes.

FORMAL DESCRIPTION
The pavilion is composed of a platform, attached to the shore of the lake, extending the promenade. It is totally empty and flexible. On it a network of cables is suspended, in which a series of small equidistant metal tubes, of different lengths, is linked. These, when colliding with each other by the force of the wind, produce sounds of different tones, which vary according to the different lengths of tubes, generating below it varied sound spatialities.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
The proposal is not intended as a concert area, but as an experimental space, annexed to the concert area, that facilitates a deeper relationship with the sound world, and serves as a reminder, throughout the year, of past concerts , through the constant presence of music in the park, through changing sounds generated by the wind. As changing as the times themselves.
