Here are the winners.
Most Innovative Product of the Year: Lore, Ecosense Lighting
This line comprises adjustable recessed downlights, wallwashers, and pendants featuring Ecosense’s Lingo technology, which enables wireless control integration and communication among fixtures. Available in a range of color temperatures—2700K to 4000K—Lore offers an optical beam between 10 and 60 degrees at a CRI of 80 or 90-plus. Lore can be specified in square and round shapes, with or without a trim, and in multiple finishes.
Technical Innovation Award: LaserLight MicroSpot Module, SLD Laser
Billed as the world’s first 400 lumen module that offers a 2-degree collimated beam from a 35mm optic, LaserLight MicroSpot can provide a narrow beam angle and sharp beam cutoff for specialty lighting applications. Measuring less than 6” long, this micro-luminaire can project 400 lumens at 6000K and a CRI of 70 up to 1 kilometer.
Design Excellence Award: Peerless Renna, Acuity Brands Lighting
Available with 15 different modules featuring soft curves and hard corners, this minimalist modular fixture can transition from a linear to a direct/indirect light source based on its installation and the configuration of the components selected. Measuring 4” wide and 1” tall with a 0.25” lightguide bezel and offering 2,300 lumens per foot, Renna can be extended up to 32’ on one power source.
Judges Citation Award: Color Tunable COB, Nichia
Nichia’s latest color-tunable COB chip allows for uniform color output as well as narrow beam patterns to address the growing demand for human-centric lighting options. Designed for commercial, retail, and residential environments.
Judges Citation Award: Samsung E-Series, Samsung Electronics
Another product designed to address the increased market for human-centric lighting, the Samsung E-Series can achieve the “industry-highest COB light efficacy of 140 lumens per watt” using white and blue CPS chips and phosphor “to improve light efficiency and color mixing,” according to the Innovation Awards website. Suitable for commercial and residential applications.
