The Building Energy Exchanged (BEE) has declared their annual Daylight Hour event, which took place on June 16, a success. Participating offices, in 17 countries, committed more than 100 million square feet of office space to going without electric lights for one hour, resulting in an energy savings that offset the equivalent of 310,00 miles driven in a passenger vehicle and the electricity needed to power 9,400 homes for an entire day. The event also engaged more than 10 million people over social media.

BEE presented awards to select participating offices for depth and breadth of participation; creativity in social media; and individual impact and moxie. For a complete list of winners visit Daylighthour.org.
