The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named power management company Eaton as its 2015 Energy Star Partner of the Year. The award, which was presented during a ceremony held in Washington, D.C., on April 10, recognizes the company’s commitment to producing Energy Star-certified lighting products and its customer outreach to inform and educate about the benefits associated with using energy-efficient products.
“Eaton is dedicated to manufacturing energy-efficient products that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect the environment while helping our customers save money and energy,” said Mark Eubanks, president, Eaton’s Cooper Lighting Division, in a prepared statement. “We are honored that Eaton is being recognized for our more than 4,000 Energy Star-certified configurable lighting products, as well as our strong commitment to educate our employees, distributors and consumers about the many rewards of using Energy Star-certified products.”
Eaton’s luminaire offering includes a range of Energy Star-certified fixtures for both outdoor and interior lighting solutions. The company works with the EPA to establish test methods and specification criteria that meet energy-efficiency requirements and that are also price-point accessible.
“Eaton’s Energy Star-certified products are helping Americans save money, save energy and do their part to reduce our nation’s greenhouse gas emissions that fuel climate change,” said EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy in a prepared statement. “Eaton’s efforts demonstrate a strong commitment to energy efficiency and to preserving a healthy planet for future generations.”
According to the Energy Star program, which has been in existence for more than 20 years, it “…is the most widely recognized symbol for energy efficiency in the world, helping families and businesses save $300 billion on utility bills, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by two billion metric tons since 1992.”
