The deadline is approaching – Nov. 2 – for the Illuminating Engineering Society’s (IES) call for papers for its upcoming research symposium on the topic of light and color. The three-day conference will examine “…the growing role of color in lighting from the standpoints of color vision, color perception, color preference, color metrics, and color technology.”

The symposium will take place April 3 – 6, 2016 at the Gaithersburg Hilton Hotel, in Gaithersburg, Md., just outside of Washington, D.C. as well as at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) where symposium participants will be able to visit NIST’s color tuning laboratories.

The Call for Poster Papers is open to researchers and designers working on the “study of light and color and how it applies to lighting from the technology, design and application standpoints…’.” Topics of interest include: Color Vision, Color Perception, Technology and Application of Color and Light, and Color Metrics and Measurements. Authors of accepted papers will be invited to also submit their papers for publication in the IES’ journal Leukos.
