Today, the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), reported that November's Electroindustry Business Conditions Index (EBCI), a broad category that focuses on North American electrical industry manufacturers, rose to above the 50-point line, indicating an expansion of the electroindustry sector. The EBCI for current business conditions posted November's value of 58.3, following September's and October's scores of 42.5 and 44.7, respectively.
The report is based on responses provided by 18 panelists, senior managers at NEMA member companies, who predict current and future business conditions. The index for current conditions indicates that more panelists reported that business improved than said that they deteriorated.
The future business conditions index fell from 58.3 in October to 55.6, meaning that a larger share of panelists reported in November that they expect conditions six months from now to decline than they did in the previous month.
