Prism-Covered Dome Refracts Sunlight

Firestone Energy Solutions’ new SunWave Daylighting System features a dome formation covered by more than 4,000 small prisms per square foot that refract direct sunlight while allowing high visible light transmittance. This technology keeps rooms bright enough to decrease the use of indoor electrical lighting up to 70 percent during daylight hours, says the company. SunWave also reduces glare by dispersing sunlight in such a way that retail products below the system should not be damaged. An insulated frame does not expose metal on the interior, which reduces the formation of condensation.
