Ainsworth Engineered’s pointSix Flooring addresses subfloor edge swell with a tapered-edge technology. A thin layer (0.6mm) of the highly compressed fiber along all four edges of the OSB panel is milled off in order to remove the part of the subfloor most prone to swelling. The taper doesn’t require sanding and, if exposed to moisture, the flooring’s wood fibers expand to fill up to flush with the taper; if no moisture is present, no fillers or mastic are needed. During testing, the flooring was flooded for 14 days and after drying out experienced edge swell of just 1/10". ainsworthengineered.com
